Journey Through the Bright City: Study Tour at Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts

Measuring the ground's glow with feet, feeling the diffused light with hands, and appreciating the vibrant light with eyes! On November 6, 2025, the "Bright City Journey: A Study Tour by Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts" came to a successful conclusion. This event specially invited Xu Dongliang, the "Narrator of Light," an executive director of AALD and the chief designer of DL Lighting Design Center, to join forces with Li Guang, an associate professor from Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts, in leading a group of graduate students from the academy and lighting professionals from Guangzhou on an immersive nighttime exploration of Guangzhou's urban landscape. The group embarked on their journey from the InterContinental Guangzhou Exhibition Center, passing by tech landmarks such as the headquarters of Alibaba, Tencent, and RootCloud, before proceeding to the Canton Tower and finally arriving at the Guangzhou New Art Museum. Throughout the tour, they decoded the ingenious design concepts and profound cultural connotations embedded in Guangzhou's lighting from a professional perspective.
