What information do I need to provide to submit my project?
• Name and introduction of the reporting unit
• Name of the lighting designer who is the main creative force
• Project name
• Project size/completion time/address
• Brief description and highlights of the project
• Upload real pictures, videos (if any), key pages of the contract, etc.
• Submit the Nomination Form if it is the nomination method
• Letter of Authorization for use of documents
• Confirmation Page of the Declaration Unit
• Joint declaration unit, such as project proprietor, general contractor, construction entities, lighting manufacturers
• Previous awards
• Owner's evaluation
• Design scheme and acceptance report
What should I do if I encounter problems uploading pictures？
After checking whether these contents are correct, please try uploading the image again. If you still encounter problems after that, please contact our support staff through the awards service group at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Do I need to pay a declaration fee before submitting my project?
Kindly remit the entry fee within 5 business days upon receiving the payment notification.
Can I cancel the declaration and get a refund?
Once the filing fee is paid, it will not be refunded. If you have been charged incorrectly, we are happy to refund the amount paid less the amount due to your account.Please note that if you encounter any problems or need assistance during the payment process, please feel free to contact the service group at email@example.com. They will be happy to provide you with assistance and support.
Is there a deadline for uploading project materials?
All materials must be submitted by April 15, 2024; otherwise, the project will lose its eligibility.
How do I know if you have received my entry?
After submitting your registration and paying the application fee, you will receive a confirmation email from us. If you do not receive the email, please check your email address on the application page. Additionally, if you are using spam blocking software, please add "firstname.lastname@example.org" to your approved recipient list. If you still do not receive the email after completing the above two steps, please go to the "My Application Record" link on the application page to check your submission status and ensure that all your entries have been paid.
How do I know if my submission is complete? What if it's not complete?
If the submitted content is incomplete, our staff will contact the participant to provide additional information.
Can a project apply for multiple categories?
Yes, you can declare the same project in multiple categories that are eligible, such as an interior lighting design and a building facade lighting design that you are responsible for. In fact, doing so may increase your chances of winning. However, each category requires payment of a fee.
Is there a limit on the number of projects to be declared?
There are no restrictions, and you can submit any number of entries.
Does the project need to be completed before it can be submitted?
Yes, we only accept completed projects. Projects or conceptual projects in progress are not allowed to participate in the selection.
Do I have to be a lighting designer to participate?
You need not be a lighting designer to submit your product. Project participants can collaboratively submit with lighting designers.
Is it necessary to submit a project contract for light art works created by individuals?
Artistic projects in light created by individuals or non-entity teams do not require the submission of project contracts. However, it is necessary to upload relevant materials to demonstrate your role as the project creator.
Do I have to provide a design plan or can I just provide photos?
You do not need to submit drawings or design plan, but we encourage participants to submit as much information as possible to ensure that our jury has sufficient information to evaluate the project. We understand that each project is unique, so feel free to submit any information you deem appropriate.
The flat fee is applied to each applicant. You are allowed to help the other applicants the pay the fees.At least one person on the project’s design team must be an active AALD member to qualify for the ”AALD Member's Application” rate.
How do I pay the submission fee?

Can I cancel my submission and receive a refund?

Will I be compensated for using my images?
There is no monetary compensation for using your image. Before entering any image, please ensure that you have full copyright.
Who are the judges?
All submitted projects are evaluated by an expert panel of judges composed of industry professionals. The judges are experts and scholars dedicated to outstanding lighting design, designers, and creative people.For the full list of judges, please refer to official reports.
Can I receive feedback from the judges?
Due to the large scope of the competition, our judges are unable to provide feedback on all projects.
Will I be notified if I win an award?
We notify winners via email, but sometimes there may be an interception, so you may not receive the notification. Fortunately, you can check whether you have received any awards by following the public information on official channels.
When can I commence promoting my award-winning details?
Upon the public announcement of the winners by the organizers, you may initiate the promotion of your award-winning information.
