On November14, at The Opening Ceremony of LUCI Annual General Meeting 2013, Martine De Regge,the president of LUCI ,deputy mayor of Ghent addressed “the beauty nightscape of Pearl river last night prove that light can stimulate city devolvement and today ,we are going to gain an insight into Guangzhou’s lighting strategy.”

Today,Chenjianhua,mayor of Guangzhou ,also attend the ceremony.He said that as the international association to promote the evaluation of the world’s city lighting ,LUCI plays an active role in helping cities solve lighting problem.There is no doubt that the LUCI meeting holding in Guangzhou will stimulate the city’s lighting development.

City is a important carrier for modern lighting .And nowadays, city lighting not only should be bright but also beautiful.Entering the new century,with the change of city life ,the severe situation of international energy crisis and environmental pollution , energy saving and eco-friendly lighting is becoming a new trend for the world’s urban lighting.

The mayor also emphasized that from all above,Guangzhou started to seek to integrate cultural elements ,modern lighting technology and energy saving technology so as to create a perfect combination of city lighting,city landscape and energy saving and eco-friendly technology, create a harmonious urban light atmosphere,advance the healthy development of the city's economy and society.

This meeting was hosted by LUCI and Guangzhou Municipal People’s Government and organized by Guangzhou Yuang Guang Lighting Service Co.,Ltd..This morning,Yehaojun, deputy director of Bureau of Urban Planning of Guangzhou,Chenyaxin,deputy director of Guangzhou Urban-Rural Construction Committee,Liangshuo,deputy general manager of Guangzhou City Construction Investment Group Co.,Ltd. ,Guanxudong,Executive President of Guangdong Private Enterprise Cooperation Association ,were invited to analyze Guangzhou’s lighting base on city construction,lighting construction and landmark lighting,LED lighting which represent a different Guangzhou to other cites at home and abroad. Meanwhile they also discussed how to deal with all kinds of problem and challenge for the purpose of promoting the healthy development of city lighting together.

At that day ,Chenrugui,executive deputy mayor,Zhouyaxin,secretary-General , Gonghaijie,deputy secretary general,Hourongquan,director of Construction Commission of Guangzhou Municipality,deputy director Chenyaxin, Tanwei,general director of Guangzhou lighting construction management center,deputy director Lanlliuhe,chief engineer Qiuyurong, and other presentative of Municipal Planning Bureau ,The city foreign affairs office and Guangzhou City Construction Investment Group Co.,Ltd. also attend the opening ceremony.

Today,Ms Martine said that she was very happy that Guangzhou open the door to other cities in China for guests through LUCI meeting ,since it is a unique opportunity for most of foreign guests to come to Guangzhou.
