Achievements
Addressing the increasing urgent demand for optical safety and health in special light environments in national defense and major strategic areas, combined with photobiological effects and human factors engineering technology, we have solved complex optical measurement and modeling techniques for different application scenarios. Using genetic algorithms, machine learning and other methods, we have achieved precise spectral matching and developed standard systems and overall design plans for light environments. We have transformed evaluation models into engineering implementation plans to solve the problem of evaluating light environment quality in the field of transportation. Typical cases include:
1)We undertook research on the simulation and validation system of the technical study of light environment control technology for key models, proposing a methodological framework for the comfort of shipboard lighting and research on the physiological and psychological health of personnel based on human circadian rhythms. We also developed a study plan for verifying lighting design technology based on physiological research and achieved a safe, healthy and comfortable lighting scene for ships. Additionally, we conducted a review and analysis of light pollution in key compartments, completing a comparative experiment plan for light pollution in model compartments, formulating technical indicators for the display and control system of model compartments, and optimizing the role of light environment in the overall operating environment.
2)We undertook a research project on human-machine effectiveness technology for civil airliner cabin lighting systems. Based on the characteristics of civil airliner models, we completed research, integrated design, and comprehensive verification of cabin lighting systems (including cockpits and passenger cabins) that met human-machine effectiveness requirements. We proposed a definition of the requirements for civil airliner cabin lighting and developed a standardized evaluation specification and verification standard based on human factors engineering research.
3)We undertook research on glare analysis and indoor optical index studies for multiple train models. Through theoretical modeling, data analysis, model train experiments and other methods, we established an integrated index system and implementation plan for human factors engineering-based optical safety and health that guides the selection, design, finalization, and implementation of various illuminating components in train cabins and passenger cars. The safety lighting environment using this theoretical system has been applied to multiple train models.
4)We undertook the sub-project of the 973 Project “Comprehensive study of influencing factors and mechanisms of environmental ergonomics”, taking the visual channel as the main performance object to establish a comprehensive model of visual ergonomics that combines factors such as light, sound, and vibration with safety warning models, providing research support for the safe design of cockpit environments and warning systems.
5)We undertook the project of researching the mechanism of aircraft cabin scene lighting, studying the psychological, physiological, and visual perception effects of cabin lighting on passengers from the perspective of human factors engineering. The research provided theoretical support for setting up scenarios for flight lighting on related models.
6) We are responsible for the topic “Research on health characteristics and evaluation models of optical quality” under the 13th Five-Year National Key R&D Program. We have sorted out and defined human health indicators, explored the laws of optical effects on vision and biology, and developed health lighting plans, facilities, and tools. Currently, we are applying theories of healthy lighting and optical medicine to more places and populations, including optical auxiliary treatment for drug rehabilitation centers, depression treatment using optical auxiliary treatment methods for sleep disorders, and other treatment methods.
