On October 28, 2023, the "Focus on 'Integrated Lighting Management, Digital and Low-carbon Transformation' Summit Forum and the 142nd Asian Lighting Designer Salon" was successfully held in Huishan, Wuxi. More than 40 guest representatives from lighting industry managers, lighting-related enterprises, and authoritative media from cities such as Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Hangzhou, Suzhou, and Changzhou attended the forum to jointly explore the latest ideas and cutting-edge concepts in urban lighting management, in order to promote high-quality development in the lighting industry.

Wu Jianyuan, Vice Chairman of Wuxi Municipal Political Consultative Conference and Secretary of Huishan Committee, said in his speech that in recent years, Huishan has thoroughly implemented General Secretary Xi Jinping's important exposition on urban work, and has started to implement the contract energy management reform of municipal lighting facilities at a high level. In August this year, the integrated lighting project in Huishan was started, providing the "Huishan experience" for energy conservation and emission reduction in lighting, and demonstrating the "Huishan responsibility" in building a modern new city. He hoped that this forum would be a new window for communication and cooperation to jointly explore and promote the future development of the lighting industry.

During the meeting, Ding Qinhua, former Deputy Inspector and Director of Landscape Management Department of Shanghai Municipal Bureau of Parks and Greening City Appearance Construction , mentioned in his speech that urban lighting is an important undertaking that showcases the city's image, creates a sense of urban heritage, promotes economic development, and enriches citizens' nightlife. It is a crucial component of the "urban renewal" initiative. It is the historical responsibility of those in the lighting industry to accelerate the green and low-carbon transformation of urban lighting, promote integrated lighting management, and achieve high-quality development.

This forum serves as an important platform for exploring innovative models for high-quality development of urban lighting in the Suzhou-Wuxi-Changzhou region, and has established a bridge for communication between the cities. Attendees included You Zhibin, Director of the Municipal and Garden Bureau of Wuxi City, Zhao Lei, Deputy District Chief of Huishan,Pan Feng Director of the Municipal Management Center of Suzhou, Mai Weimin, Director of the City Lighting Management Office of Changzhou, Chen Daqin, Director of the Lighting and Sewage Management Center of Wuxi, and Hu Zhijun, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of Wuxi Illumination Co., Ltd.

The second part of the event was the keynote speech. Wang Shuxiao, Director of the Light Environment and Illumination Research Center in China Academy of Building Research; Ma Ye, General Manager of Beijing Qingchengpinsheng; and Qian Wei, Manager of Wuxi Illumination Comprehensive Development Company, shared their insights.

During the interactive discussion session, the guests engaged in in-depth discussions on various topics such as "the benefits of overall upgrading and renovation of lighting areas for long-term management", "green and low-carbon lighting measures in major cities", and "how to promote refined management for high-quality development of urban lighting". They offered suggestions for further enhancing the scientific and refined level of urban lighting management in Huishan, making Wuxi's future even more splendid.

At the end of the event, Zhao Lei, Deputy District Chief of Huishan, made a concluding speech. He affirmed the organizational format of this forum and expressed that the forum is of great significance to the management and construction of urban lighting in Wuxi and even the Yangtze River Delta region.
The event was co-hosted by AALD Secretary-General and Chief Operating Officer of China Illumination Association, Ma Bin, AALD Senior Member and Shandong Coordinator, Song Lei, who is also the Illumination Design major teaching and research section head at Shandong University of Art and Design, as well as AALD Senior Member and Nanjing Coordinator, Shi Haixiao, who is also an Associate Professor at the School of Arts, Jiangsu University.

AALD currently has 14 regional coordinators and its network of coordinators both at home and abroad continues to expand. During the event, AALD Secretary-General Ma Bin officially presented certificates to the newly appointed Wuxi Coordinator, Huang Lei, who is also the Director of the Illumination Design Institute of Wuxi Illumination Co., Ltd. The coordinators of Shandong, Nanjing, and Wuxi, along with the Secretary-General, also gathered for the first time in an event of great significance.
