The Asian Association of Lighting Designers (AALD) aims to continuously promote the development and recognition of professional lighting designers, establishing the highest standards for lighting design in Asia. Recently, the AALD President, Executive Directors, and other expert reviewers have evaluated and selected the latest batch of members. The review results are now announced.

He excels at coordinating key project nodes through design and has won multiple Asian Lighting Design Awards and other domestic and international awards.

Personal Profile: Ms. Christine Sicangco has nearly 40 years of experience in lighting design. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Applied Arts and Sciences from San Diego State University and a Master's degree in Architectural Lighting Design from Parsons School of Design. As the head of CSLDI, Christine has been involved in various projects, including hotels, resorts, casinos, retail and shopping centers, headquarters offices, museums, churches, embassies, performing arts theaters, and high-end residential buildings.

He has been listed in the "Hurun Report's Most Popular Chinese Designers" and "70 People in 70 Years of China's Lighting Industry." Over decades of lighting design practice, he has adhered to the design philosophy of "less is more," achieving notable success in urban lighting planning, large-scale immersive urban space digital cultural tourism dramas, landmark lighting, and public art installations.

Personal Profile: Ms. Niu Xiaofei graduated from Shandong University of Art & Design with a bachelor's degree and holds a master's degree in arts from Renmin University of China. She is an innovation and entrepreneurship mentor for college students at Shandong University of Art & Design, a top ten entrepreneurial model among college graduates in Jinan, the founding president of the Cultural and Creative Branch of the Jinan Tourism Federation, a guest professor at the School of Architecture and Landscape Design at Shandong University of Art & Design, and has created light shows for Jinan CBD and Qingdao Fushan Bay for three consecutive years, which have been featured on Xinwen Lianbo. The projects she has designed have won numerous domestic and international design awards.
Initial Aspiration for Joining the Association: Lighting designers are not only "magicians" who illuminate spaces but also "artists" who create artistic atmospheres. They use light and shadow as brushes and architecture and the environment as canvases to give each corner a unique soul. AALD gathers these outstanding "light and shadow artists," and I look forward to working with them to carve the art of light, explore new expressions of urban nighttime aesthetics, and inject more splendid colors and unique charm into the city's nights.

Personal Profile: Mr. Zhang Zengzeng has been dedicated to combining technological means with urban three-dimensional spaces for many years, attempting to visualize and three-dimensionalize invisible philosophical and social logic. Over the past decade, he has conducted a series of interdisciplinary studies inside and outside art museums, exploring new materials, spatial technologies, and urban phenomena. He has held solo exhibitions such as "Yangtze River · Yangtze River" in 2019 and multimedia works like "Shape of Sound" and "Heaven."
Initial Aspiration for Joining the Association:Lighting, to me, is a fusion of art and technology. Upon first delving into this realm, I was astounded by its power to shape spaces and touch hearts. Joining AALD, I aspire to stand alongside elites, delving deeply into the diverse possibilities of lighting, allowing light and shadow to dance freely, using design to illuminate ordinary corners, and endowing buildings and environments with unique souls. Personal Profile: Mr. Zhu Weikai, a senior engineer and senior lighting designer, has extensive experience in lighting design and has collaborated with many renowned architects on projects such as the Shanghai Tower, Taihu Museum, Grand Canal Museum, and Hangzhou International Sports Center. He has published several professional papers and articles and participated in the compilation of technical guidelines for the renovation of old urban residential areas in Zhejiang Province and application standards for indoor space lighting design in architectural decoration and renovation. He also serves as a specially-appointed expert for the Zhejiang Provincial Urban and Rural Landscape Improvement Expert Service Team and the deputy director of the Lighting Professional Committee of the Zhejiang Provincial Surveying and Design Industry Association, actively promoting industry development.
Initial Aspiration for Joining the Association: Having researched light art and human-centric lighting for over two decades, I now apply to join AALD to exchange ideas with more excellent colleagues and explore lighting technology innovations together, better applying light to urban public spaces. In commercial spaces, strong and attractive lighting can guide customers' gazes, highlight product features and charm, and stimulate purchasing desire. He has won numerous "Qianjiang Cup" and "West Lake Cup" awards from provincial and municipal authorities in Zhejiang. His main research areas encompass urban lighting special planning, garden landscape lighting, architectural floodlighting, and ecological green lighting technologies, with multiple academic papers and monograph achievements.

Recently, he led the detailed design of key projects such as the urban nightscape lighting of Changsha's "One River, Two Banks" and the torch tower for the 2019 Wuhan Military World Games.

Personal Profile:Mr. Zhu Qi is a new media art planner and the founder of K.D.Art, as well as the co-founder of POE. Since 2016, he has led the planning of projects such as the teamLab Crystal Fireworks China Tour, Light Shanghai X Amsterdam Light Festival, the artistic installation Nautilus for 2047 "Dialogue · Allegory", the 2021 Shenzhen MixC World Light Festival, and the main venue light art installations for the 2023 and 2024 Beijing Chaoyang International Light Festivals. He has also exclusively represented international new media artists and works, including Collectif Scale, Cyril Lancelin, and Feng Jiacheng, among dozens of others.

Initial Aspiration for Joining the Association:Before 2020, I had the privilege of being invited by the association to accompany the Amsterdam organizers in their activities and serve as a guest speaker, which gave me a close-up experience of the association's events and deeply moved me. Now, our vision is not only to bring excellent light artists from around the world to China but also to broaden our horizons to Asia and the world, engaging in more mutual exchanges and projects. Therefore, I hope to join the association's family for more learning and exchange, so that we can do better.
