AALD Secretariat Representatives Visit Multiple Regions, Focus on New Quality Productive Forces

From January 4 to 6, 2026, representatives from the AALD Secretariat traveled to Hangzhou to conduct industry exchange activities. They successively visited Zhejiang Urban Construction Planning and Design Institute, the Architectural Design and Research Institute of Zhejiang University, and Hangzhou Sanseshi Design Institute. The exchanges centered on two core topics: First, a systematic introduction was given to the selection mechanism and industry value of the Asian Lighting Design Awards. Second, the innovative application of new quality productive forces in lighting design was discussed. This visit aimed to establish an industry exchange platform, enhance design efficiency and creativity, promote intelligent upgrading of the industry, and lay a solid foundation for deepening cooperation among multiple parties.

Subsequently, representatives from the AALD Secretariat visited Signify (China) Investment Co., Ltd. in Shanghai. The two sides engaged in in-depth discussions centered on the application of new quality productive forces in lighting. Mr. Yin Kang, CEO of Signify Greater China, shared three major industry trends: the integration of artificial intelligence, the upgrading of health and well-being, and low-carbon and sustainable development. He stated that Signify is actively embracing new quality productive forces, reducing costs and increasing efficiency for the industry through technological innovation, leading the upgrade of lighting quality through professional collaboration, actively exploring new market models, and jointly opening up new avenues for industry development.

During their visit in Shanghai, the AALD Secretariat representatives also made in-depth visits to Zhongtian Lighting, the Environmental Institute of Huajian Group, Shanghai Institute, and IGE Studio. The symposium focused on exchanges around two major issues: the application for the Asian Lighting Design Awards and the application of new quality productive forces. This visit precisely connected the resources and advantages of multiple parties, sparked creative ideas through collaboration, promoted the in-depth integration of lighting design and technology, and injected new momentum into the high-quality development of the industry.

Following their trips to Hangzhou and Shanghai, representatives from the AALD Secretariat arrived in Wenzhou and entered Wenzhou Vocational & Technical College to initiate in-depth dialogue on the "integration of industry and education." The two sides focused on the application of new quality productive forces in the field of lighting education and discussed new paths for talent cultivation amid technological changes. AALD is committed to building a bridge between schools and enterprises, promoting the integration of lighting theory and practice, and cultivating industry talents and empowering the industry with new quality productive forces.
