The 9th Asia Lighting Arts Symposium 2013 Was Held Successfully

The 9th Asia Lighting Arts Symposium 2013, hosted by Guangzhou Guangya Messe Frankfurt Co.,Ltd.and Guangzhou Yang Guang Lighting Services Co.,Ltd., was held successfully on June 11.

As one of the activities held in the same period with Guangzhou International Lighting Exhibition, the symposium was held in China Import and Export Fair Pazhou Complex. Since 2005, continuous improvement and innovation have been made for the symposium in terms of its structure, pattern, facility and contents, which becomes the most profound, innovative and professional forum and has been positively recognized by lighting experts.

The profundity: Mr. Cui Kai finds out that the origin of lighting design is natural lighting
Nowadays increasing attention has been paid to technology rather than natural lighting in lighting industry. Therefore Cui Kai, president of the China Architecture Design Institute and also speaker of the symposium, showed us the origin of lighting design is to have natural light shine through the windows or doors. Based on technology and culture, taking the “20•10”office building in Dongsheng District, Ordos City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and library of Kangba art center in Gyegu Town ,Yushu, Qinghai province as an example, inspired by nature lighting, he analyzed the way to discover the homespun wisdom of local culture so as to get inspiration for our lighting art work.

Innovation : Mr.Kaoru Mende enunciated the new lighting design concept ?揊ive Low?principles to create an unique light environment
A hotel’s basic function is to provide accommodation, catering, banquet, entertainment, and comfortable environment, in addition, a successful hotel lighting design needs a unique lighting environment. Although a warm and comfortable lighting environment is essential, extraordinary customer experience is the most important of all. As most designers advocated to create a comfortable lighting environment base on its function, Mr Kaoru Mende from Japan,design director of LPA Inc. Kept an eyes on the unique environment and enunciated the new lighting design concept of “Five Low ” principles of low illumination ,low color temperature, low dimension, low gray scale and low energy.

In addition,Mr. Jérome Donna, lighting designer of Public Lighting Department, Lyon, and Mr. Shen Wei,vice president of Zhejiang Urban Construction Garden Design Institute and Director of the Light Environment Institute and fellow member of AALD, and Mr.Dan Weinreber, partner of KGM Architecture Design Inc.and professional member of IALD ,and Ms.Xu Xiaorong, General Secretary of CIES Beijing, and Mr. Cui Huafeng, chief designer of Guangzhou San Mu Yu Architecture Designer,and Mr. Philip Rafael,founder of The Dark Art Group,and other guests from home and abroad were invited to the symposium, exploring the latest technologies and design ideas in lighting industry , broadening the audience’s horizon ,which show the specialty of the symposium.
“Just like George Bernard Shaw has said that if you have an idea and I have an idea, and we exchange ideas, we each now have two ideas “said Uno Lai, presentative of AALD which is the exclusive supporter of the symposium ,expressing in the Night light’s cocktail party on June 6 that it’s also the purpose of Asia Lighting Arts Symposium to promote the development of lighting industry through presentation ,interaction and sharing ideas.So far,the symposium has been held for 9 years and morn than 20 thousand people benefit from it,which plays an important role in the development of lighting industry and has become a brand activity.
