 Unlocking the Mountain City! AIGC Lighting Design Public Welfare Class Enters Chongqing University

 

On December 12th, AALD successfully held the 6th AIGC Lighting Design Public Welfare Class at Chongqing University. Through practical AIGC application experiences, interactive exchanges, and the launch of the 2025 Asia Lighting Design Awards (Southwest Station), the event aimed to inspire creative ideas and promote breakthroughs in lighting design in terms of technological innovation, cultural integration, and sustainable development.

 

Overview of the Public Welfare Class

 

On December 12, 2024, the AIGC Lighting Design Public Welfare Class was successfully held at Chongqing University. This class was an important part of the graduate public design course "Lighting Design" in the School of Architecture and Urban Planning at Chongqing University, with AALD leveraging its industry leadership and resource advantages to assist in the teaching work.

Course Scene

On the day of the course, all graduate students from the "Lighting Design" public design course in the School of Architecture and Urban Planning at Chongqing University actively participated. Additionally, students from Sichuan Fine Arts Institute and Chongqing Technology and Business College, as well as AALD members from the Southwest region and lighting designers from Chongqing, gathered to participate in the course.

At the beginning of the course, Professor Feng Chi, Vice Dean of the School of Architecture and Urban Planning at Chongqing University, and Professor Yan Yonghong, Chair of AALD and Professor/PhD Supervisor in the School of Architecture and Urban Planning at Chongqing University, delivered opening speeches.

Course Scene

During the course, Zhu Yuerong, Assistant Secretary-General of AALD and Project Leader of AIGC Lighting Design, first presented a topic on "AI Leading the Transformation of Lighting Design Processes". Subsequently, Wang Xiao, Adjunct Professor of Interior Design at Shandong University of Art and Design, and Technical Director/Tutor of the AIGC Lighting Design Workshop, served as the main speaker. Zhu Lidong, AALD Senior Member/Chongqing Coordinator, Associate Professor at Chongqing Technology and Business College, and Design Director of Lihuo Lighting Design (Chongqing) Co., Ltd., introduced the leaders and guests participating in the public welfare class.

During the class, guests had the opportunity to exclusively experience the AI Lighting Workstation V2.0. This one-stop AI-generated tool, tailored for lighting professionals, not only quickly generates images but also supports video creation, copywriting, PPT, and more. It is worth mentioning that the highly anticipated 2025 Asia Lighting Design Awards (Southwest Station) was launched concurrently. As the second region to hold the launch ceremony after the Su-Xi-Chang area, it marks the gradual commencement of the award selection process and provides an important platform for lighting designers in the region to showcase their talents and compete.
